Nestled in the heart of downtown Laredo, the Zaragoza Grill is a fine-dining restaurant located in the historic La Posada Hotel. The restaurant’s modern Latin cuisine and unique style have earned it numerous awards including praise as one of the Top 50 Mexican Restaurants in Texas by Texas Monthly magazine. So, what makes Zaragoza Grill so special?
Aside from its location in one of Laredo’s oldest buildings, the Zaragoza Grill offers “a culinary journey that fuses the subtle and the spicy, the robust and the savory in combinations that are sure to surprise and delight.” The menu is a work of art that changes with the seasons to ensure guests enjoy the freshest ingredients available.
Guests are often blown away by Zaragoza’s extensive wine list as well as their specialty cocktails like their Pomegranate and Cucumber Martinis or the Margarita de Jamaica. For brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy a variety of botanas like Crispy Fried Lengua, which is fried beef tongue with guacamole, salsa dearobol, and cebollas en escabeche, or Beer Battered Asparagus. Other small plates include the Poblano Bisque and Chicken Tortilla Soup as well as the Stuffed Avocado Salad. Brunch entrees include the Veggie Omelet, Los Chilaquiles, Eggs Benedict, Paprika Glazed Salmon, Grilled Angus Beef Fajitas, and the Flautas Zaragoza. You can also enjoy all you can eat pancakes!
Zaragoza Grill truly shines when it comes to their weeknight entrees. Local favorites include the Kobe Beef Burger topped with avocado, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a Texas sourdough bun. The Queso Fresco Tenderloin is another favorite and is served with cilantro tortilla rice, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and chili guajillo butter. Other entrees are the Tequila Chile Piquin Shrimp, the Paprika Glazed Salmon, the Grilled Ribeye, and the Grilled Chicken Chipotle Pasta.
Another great perk at Zaragoza Grill is their lunch menu that offers a variety of daily specials. The Chicken Salad Croissant is on the menu for Mondays and the Chicken Caesar Salad is the Tuesday special. There’s a Mexican Buffet every Wednesday with a 12-ounce T-Bone Steak on Thursday and Tenderloin Kebabs on Friday. There’s also a variety of other appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and sandwiches as well as specialty refreshments like Fresh Lemonade, Pomegranate Lemonade, Agua de Jamaica, and Topo Chico. Be sure to end the meal with an Ice Cream Float or one of Zaragoza’s famous vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry milkshakes!
